In the winter, the Inuit break into small band of about 100 people. Summer bands were as small as a dozen Inuit people. The Inuit governed their communities with cooperation. The elders were teachers and advisers for the rest of the Inuit. A good hunter in a Inuit band was considered the leader of the band. Woman made cloths and cooked, and men hunted.
